Introduction to Linocut

Technique: Introduction to carving soft linoleum and printing on paper. Students will learn how to design, transfer and carve into linoleum and print using brayer and barren onto paper. Students will learn how to print using oil-based ink and proper studio clean up. No experience needed!

Supplies:

1 - 4×4 lino block

1 - 3×3 lino block

Paper for printing during class.

Use of shared studio supplies: carving tools, brayers, barrens and ink.

About the Instructor: Born and raised on Molokai, Teruko has always found inspiration in the beauty of nature and the joy of creating. She loves crafts and spending time outdoors, where she always finds new ideas and inspiration. She believes art is about having fun, exploring, and learning from one another. I encourage both beginners and experienced artists to share, create, and enjoy the journey together!

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is designed for those with some knowledge or those wanting to experience linocut for the first time. Everyone with curiosity or an idea is welcome! Class size will be limited to 8 and is only offered for Residents of Molokai. These programs are supported by program grant.
