If you want to develop new screen printing skills, this is your chance! Familiarize yourself with the HP screen print studio and learn the basics of the practice with an expert.

Week 1 : Refresh or practice the basics and get oriented to our printmaking studio while having fun. Using a few screens with simple designs that have already been developed you will learn to play with colorful inks to develop fresh and creative designs.

Week 2 : Screen Printing basics will be covered in a small class environment. You will learn how to apply emulsion to your screen, expose an image on the exposure unit and experience printing a screen.

Week 3: Play Print your own design. Further your skills and make a bunch of prints to take home.

What Is Included

• 6 hours of guided workshop instruction plus unlimited open studio time for 3 weeks during the course to advance your individual projects.

• A $20 deposit is required to check out a screen from the studio. The deposit will be returned when the screen is returned reclaimed and in good condition.

• Supplies provided by participants - blue painters tape

About the Instructor

Noah Kneeream-Lapian is a brilliant artist and an expert screen printer. He earned his BFA in studio arts with a focus in drawing from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, where he was also a TA for master printmaker, Charles Cohan.‍ He is a studio monitor and teaches regularly at Honolulu Printmakers, where he leads with kindness and warmth.
