Intro to Linoleum Carving & Stamp Making

Location: Pa‘a Printmakers at Molokai Center Unit A111 40 Ala Malama Blvd., Kaunakakai, HI 96748

Focus: Linoleum carving for stamp making

• Students will learn how to design, transfer, and carve onto linoleum blocks to create their own unique stamps. While also learning how to print onto paper using cranfield oil-based ink. 

• We will also explore ombre printing with 2 colors combinations

  • 2- 2×4” Lino Soft cut blocks

  • In-class access to shared supplies such as: transfer paper, carving tools, ink & paper.

About the Artist:

Keao Chow, native plant enthusiast, lifelong creative and most recently a printmaker, takes inspiration from mauka to makai to give her prints life and movement whether on paper or fabric. Sharing printmaking and plants, Keao hopes to bring a little more art & aloha ‘aina into everyone’s lives.

This workshop is designed for complete beginners and advanced artists. It is a great way to check out the new studio and better understand the resources that are available to participants. It requires no prior artistic or printmaking experience. Registering in advance helps us plan our supplies. These programs are supported by a program grant to help keep classes affordable.
