Course Overview
Join master printmaker and beloved University of Hawaiʻi professor Charles Cohan for a high-energy, two-session dive into stone lithography. This workshop is designed for artists who want to move quickly, stripping the medium down to its most essential and versatile hand-printmaking practices.
Over two intensive sessions (with one week to think and work in between) , you will learn how chemicals, grease and water transform limestone into a high-fidelity printing matrix. Under Cohan’s expert guidance you’ll explore the medium’s limitless vocabulary of mark-making, from delicate tusche washes to bold, greasy crayon work.
