ON MOLOKAI! Gelli Plate Prints: Collage Aesthetics in Monotype

$30.00

Instructor: Helena Noordhoff

Saturday January 3, 10 am - 1 pm

(1 session, 3 hours)

In this adult printmaking class, participants will explore the expressive process of monoprinting using Gelli plates to create vibrant, collage-inspired artworks. Each print produced is an original, one-of-a-kind image that cannot be exactly replicated. Through hands-on experimentation with found imagery, textures, and layering techniques, students will discover new ways to combine intuition and composition while developing their own personal visual language in print.

What's included

All necessary tools and materials are provided for use during the workshop. Inks, paper, and studio supplies. The Gelli Plates are 8” x 10”,  so feel free to start brainstorming ideas for found imagery and composition.

This workshop offers a relaxed and supportive environment for anyone curious about printmaking. It's a satisfying process that creates a strong sense of accomplishment.

  • Final product: A set of unique, handcrafted prints.

  • Skills: The foundational skills needed to continue creating Gelli plate collage monoprints independently.

  • Atmosphere: A fun, creative, and inclusive space to explore a new art form.
