Become a “paper engineer”! This workshop will provide an introduction to paper structures that introduce elements that move off the two-dimensional surface and animate the page. Learn the difference between a “pop-up” and a ”movable” form, and learn the basic principles of both through a series of models that you will combine into a little book for future reference.

Supplies: Instructor provides: basic papers, adhesive (PVA), and handouts

Supply Fee: $10.00 (bring cash or pay by card at the first class).

Student provides: x-acto knife and blades, scissors, double-sided tape, pencil, 12” or 18” ruler, bone folder, scoring tool, cutting mat. Some of these materials are available to share in the studio.

Recommended: lightweight papers for collage, drawing materials for further embellishment of basic structures.
