Outreach: Chinatown Gateway on 4/23
The Honolulu Printmakers participated in Walk on the Wild Side at Chinatown Gateway Plaza, a benefit for the Kidney Foundation on March 23, 2019. We partnered with Sandy Pohl and Hawaii Craftsmen for this event. Printmakers Kamran Samimi, Marcia Pasqua, Paul Galang, and Ileana Lee exhibited work, as well as book arts interest group Turning the Page, and Thad Higa from Tiny Zine. Members of HP presented hands-on printmaking activities to visitors.
Alan Levy: Distractions
Alan Levy currently has a solo exhibition at Brue Bar on Merchant Street in downtown Honolulu. Please stop by and check it out, and support our friends Brue Bar/Honblue by having some of their excellent coffee. Exhibition continues through May 29.
Contact 2019: Acts of Faith
Honolulu Printmakers is well represented in the recently-opened Contact 2019 Exhibition. HP members participating include Jared Wickware, Fred Takakuwa, Renee Iijima, Paula Nokes, Allison Roscoe, Tamara Moan, Brady Evans, Diana Nicholette Jeon, and Thad Higa. Check it out at the Mission Houses Museum, through May 4.
Duncan Dempster: New Ways of Living
HP Executive Director Duncan Dempster has an exhibition of screenprinted plywood assemblages currently on view at the Honolulu Museum of Art at First Hawaiian Center. The exhibition continues through June 14.
