AS OF 12/1/16 NEXUS HAS CONCLUDED; THANKS TO ALL THAT MADE IT A HUGE SUCCESS! STAY TUNED FOR FUTURE ARTISTS' BOOK-RELATED PROGRAMMING!

Nexus // Print and the Artists' Book

Honolulu Printmakers presents Nexus: Print and the Artists’ Book, a series of artist residencies and events that revolve around the intersections of printmaking, publishing, and book arts. The title and concept refer to the point where disparate backgrounds, technologies, motivations, and maker cultures collide, assemble, and bind -- in the form of the artists’ book.

Nexus will be comprised of visiting artist workshops as well as local artist talks and demos, and will culminate in the inaugural Impressions Print & Book Fair in November 2016. The goal of Nexus is to ignite a conversation around books as an artist’s and printmaker’s medium.  The artists involved will bring new methods and visions of print culture to local makers and viewers in Honolulu. This infusion of practical skills and innovative concepts will help to nurture an artists’ book culture in Honolulu.
