"Iolsta Hatt in a Checker Cab on Greenwich and Canal in 1978" Dieter Runge

Artist statement:
My printmaking comes from direct experiences, sailing on the Hokulea, growing, harvesting and cooking with Turmeric, meditating on the possibility of love and the pure abandon of playing in a rock'n roll band, reflecting on a life that has been lived outside the corporate mainstream but inside the pulse of freedom of thought and artistic expression. Some people seek knowledge or power; writing my memoir and reflecting on my life I recognize, that primarily, I seek experience. My art reflects my experiences and ads to them the process of art making itself, aimed at uncovering my deepest truth and to uplift my fellow beings.
