Artist statement:
My practice is one that investigates botanical research, permacultural techniques and herbalist histories. Printmaking has been a constant tool in this investigation, that has led me down paths such as woodblock printing, etching, lithography, book and zine making, poetry, and experimentations with the physicality of paper in two and three dimensional form. My intention in each of my projects is to find parallels between the process of making with the life and death, cause and effect, waste and reuse cycles of material that is the backbone of a an ecological system.

To mimic these parallels I keep my proofs, scrap paper pieces, research material, collection of drawings and incorporate them into new projects. This enables me to keep a visual dialogue with past projects and ideas that can morph into new evolved hybrids.

All work must be picked up at the UH Manoa Art Gallery on Sunday, February 17, from 10 am to 1 pm. If you require shipping please inquire at duncan@honoluluprintmakers.org for a shipping quote.
